Radio Station 99.3 FM Easy Listening Music Newsletter for October 2024

Did you know that Don Ferguson’s shows on WTPB take

several different formats? 1) Cast albums of Broadway and Hollywood Musicals, 2) Profiles of famous performers and

special topics; 3) Original radio stories told with music;

4) One-hour compilations of “Songs That Tell A Story.” Don says that he sincerely hopes you share his enjoyment of

musical storytelling and history! Don’s one-hour shows may be heard on Monday and Friday at 10 AM, and on Sunday and Wednesday at 4 PM.

Happy Birthday to those of you celebrating a birthday in     October.  Someone who is special to our station and to Mike Williamson and me (who are both natives of Albert Lea,

Minnesota) will have a birthday on October 25.  American

actress Marion Ross (Marion Cunningham on the ABC

television sitcom Happy Days) celebrates her 96th birthday this month. I had once had the opportunity to interview her. Part of the interview is posted on our station’s website.

Marion grew up and went to Albert Lea High School with my Mother, Betty. There is a nice bronze likeness of Marion sitting on a bench, just outside the Marion Ross Community Theater in Albert Lea.

By the way, Don’s shows during October will be Sound of

Music; Cabaret; South Pacific; Marion Ross Radio Show (written by Don); and Part 13 of Songs That Tell A Story.

Best wishes, and Thanks for Listening!  –

Murray Hanson, Station Manager
