The History of the Station
 
WTPB-LP is an officially licensed broadcast station authorized by the Federal  Communications Commission. The original license application was made in August, 2000, and the station went on the air at Easter time in April of 2005.The studio was dedicated in June of 2009.
 
In 2017, station engineer Michael Hayden and Station Manager Murray Hanson rebuilt the studio and replaced the original computers with new ones and added several new pieces of equipment. All of the computer software was upgraded as well.

Programming on WTPB-LP
 
Worship at Third Presbyterian Church Sunday worship is broadcast live on Sundays at 10:15 AM and is rebroadcast on Wednesdays, at 10:15 AM. Worship Westminster Presbyterian’s Sunday message at 1:00 PM on Wednesdays and on the following Sunday at the same time.
 
WTPB-LP carries several nationally broadcast programs. You’ll hear locally produced shows including Mike Williamson’s weekly music show,  a nightly variety of shows provided by John “Radio” Russell, including “Midwest Ballroom.” 
 
Several shows are prepared by Murray Hanson.  David Fagen of Rockford continues to present new episodes of “Only Oldies” as well as s “A Little Night Music” on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays at 7 PM.
