Easy Listening Music on Radio 99.3 FM

WTPB – LP Radio 99.3 FM

Radio Newsletter for September 2025. Did you know this?

One of the best kept secrets about programming on 99.3 FM was never meant to be a secret at all!  Have you noticed that the program schedules on Sunday and Wednesday are identical?  That’s right.

On every broadcast day we play what we call “easy listening music” on our community radio station during most of the time during a 24-hour day. However, on Wednesdays and Sundays we also play at 9 AM Only Oldies with Rockford’s Dave Fagen; 10:15 AM Worship led by Pastor Bowie from Third Presbyterian Church (live on Sunday); 11:40 AM Words of Life, a program of the Salvation Army; Noon: Day 1, featuring a sermon by a Pastor from one of a half dozen various Protestant denominations: 12:30 PM Sing For Joy, music from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota; 1:00 PM Worship and Prayers from Westminster Presbyterian of Rockford’s most recent Sunday worship service; 1:30 PM The Lutheran Hour.

For the rest of the afternoon, we play from 2:00 to 4:00 Dick Robertson’s American Standards by the Sea; and from 4:00 to 5:00 PM we feature Rockford’s Don Ferguson hosting Music from Broadway and Hollywood.

During September Don will feature in rotation these programs: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; Annie Get Your Gun; Applause; Finian’s Rainbow; and Part 12 of his series, Songs That Tell A Story.

Evening programming on Wednesdays and Sundays begins with 7:00 PM Old Time Radio; 7:30 PM Rockford’s Mike Williamson and Friends; and 8:00 – 10:00 PM our own John Radio Russell hosting Midwest Ballroom.

Thank you for listening on Wednesdays and Sundays, and every other day as well! We have been on the air now for 20 ½ years.  You can hear us at home or in the car on FM radio at 99.3; and online by going to our interesting website, wtpblp.com

                     Best wishes!  Thanks for Listening!
